DIY Spritzer

Think of this as a sangria, but with beer. This raspberry beer cocktail is easy, delicious, and made for a group. What more could you ask for? Now we know that beer cocktails are still relatively new, and leave a lot of people scratching their heads but we promise they’re delicious! Even if you swear you don’t like beer it's worth trying a beer cocktail, it’s a whole different ball game. This drink especially is extra sweet and fruity, pleasing even those who swear they hate beer.

Ingredients:

Beer - Pale ales and pilsners shine here, but you can use just about anything that pairs well with citrus notes. Fruit beers such as a Lambic will be a real crowd pleaser.

Lemon-Lime Soda - The brand doesn’t matter, and you can even substitute ginger ale if you want something a little more earthy and less fruity.

Fruit - This is totally optional, but you can throw in bits of frozen fruit to keep your spitzer cold and add more flavor. Stick to fruits that are featured in your beer, or lemon/lime slices. Oranges, raspberries, and even cherries work well.

Making a spritzer is just as easy as pouring a beer, because that’s really all you’re doing.

• 1 part Beer
• 1 part Lemon-Lime Soda
• Optional Fruit garnish

If you’re adding fruit, we recommend putting it in your glass first. Then pour in the beer, making sure you only fill the glass half full. Fill up the rest with your lemon-lime soda and ta-da! If you feel your drink is too sweet, try more beer and less soda. Try swapping out the lemon lime for ginger-ale, or even club soda.
